Peace n’ LOL est un réseaux social où les membres peuvent partager du contenu, suivre d’autres membres, voter sur le contenu et gagner des points convertibles en badges et cadeaux.
Lancé en version pré-bêta privée en Aout 2011, le site est entrain de subir un liftig au niveau de la UI et le design.

Google Chrome Bug : « BBB »

I guess the screen cap below explains itself. If you’ve got Chrome 11+ and, as we tracked, you are disabling the bookmarks bar, you would notice a small (but annoying) 150px black bar at the bottom of your web pages.

Solution 1

Simply enable your bookmarks bar if you want to get rid of the bug (completely).

Solution 2

If you wanna still use more screen real estate, hit Ctrl+Shift+B whenever this happens, to show the bookmarks bar (and Ctrl+Shift+B back to hide it again).

Solution 3

Which is lame, but gotta have a place (for bug correction purposes), is to resize the Chrome window, or F11 it (full screen).

(Tested on Chrome, logged on gmail- But, doesn’t show up on Firefox. Trying to fix that.)

While trying to install the Google App Engine, Google Web Toolkit, or the Google Android SDK in Eclipse Galileo 3.5 or Eclipse Helios 3.6, via http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.5/content.xml (Galileo) or http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.6/content.xml (Helios) you’ll probably notice an error that pops up :

Unable to connect to repository http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.6/content.xml Unable to connect to repository http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.6/content.xml Connection timed out: connect

A solution that I’ve found to be of a great use is to replace the download URL with it’s SSL equivalent; Use https://dl-ssl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.5/content.xml or https://dl-ssl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.6/content.xml (Galileo / Helios).

FileZilla: your best friend IS your worst enemy.

For almost every webmaster, and website admin, Filezilla is the very best way to manage file uploads to a server. I’ve seen freaks use pure SSH but that’s not my subject.
Filezilla, is GREAT. Really. It’s THE BEST FTP/sFTP client there is. But, did you know that ALL of your server passwords are stored in plain text ?!

Under Windows

got to %appData%/FileZilla/sitemanager.xml and %appData%/FileZilla/recentservers.xml

(%appData% is under C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming on win vista/7).

Under Mac or Linux

got to ~/home/username/.filezilla/sitemanager.xml and ~/home/username/.filezilla/recentservers.xml

Solution ?

At this moment, there is NO FIX (well, there is: deleting those files when closing FileZilla …). The next version (3.4.x.y) may include a fix.
